Understanding SSS Retirement Benefits

The Social Security System (SSS) is a government-run social insurance program that provides retirement, disability, sickness, maternity, and death benefits to qualified members in the Philippines.

SSS Pension Formula

The monthly pension is computed as the highest of:

  1. PHP 300 + (20% × AMSC) + (2% × AMSC × CYS in excess of 10)
  2. 40% × AMSC
  3. PHP 1,200 if CYS is at least 10 but less than 20
  4. PHP 2,400 if CYS is 20 or more

AMSC = Average Monthly Salary Credit, CYS = Credited Years of Service.
